Hudson Assessment Statement Regarding Remote Psychological
Assessment During the Coronavirus Crisis
The national, state and local response to the COVID-19 pandemic has required all of us to make significant changes to our daily lives and business practices during this national emergency. In order to accommodate agency needs and remain mindful of ways to reduce the potential for transmission of COVID-19, Dr. Hudson has been asked to evaluate potential alternatives to the customary face-to-face evaluation process.
Obstacles to normal assessment due to COVID - 19: The medically recommended practice of social distancing poses obvious problems for Dr. Hudson’s normal assessment practice of in-person proctored testing and face-to-face interviews.
In light of the current pandemic, Dr. Hudson has received numerous requests to engage in remote proctored testing and psychological assessment interviews. While Dr. Hudson strongly supports in-person proctoring of psychological testing and face-to-face interviews as a best practice, Dr. Hudson has worked with his psychological test vendors and telehealth practice platforms to develop a remote proctoring and interview process to facilitate essential assessment services for the duration of the crisis. The assessment process will necessitate some changes in how evaluations are scheduled and executed; however, every effort has been made to ensure test security and the fidelity of the assessment process.
Anticipated changes:
- While psychological assessments of this nature are considered “essential services,” due to the “Stay-At-Home” Order, until further notice, all evaluations scheduled through this website will be for remote assessments unless approved in advance by Dr. Hudson. This is for the protection of both your candidates and Dr. Hudson during the current pandemic.
- Candidates must have access to a computer with webcam capabilities and a microphone, preferably a headset with a microphone.
-
Assessment time slots will be made available to agencies; however, the exact time the assessment will be conducted will differ from the time you schedule the candidate on the HudsonAssessment website. This is because the telehealth platform and assessment process will initially accommodate only one assessment at a time. As Dr. Hudson becomes more comfortable with the telehealth platform capabilities, and the ability to ensure online testing fidelity, there may be opportunities to schedule and test more than one person at a time.
- Dr. Hudson will correspond with your candidate by email to arrange the specific time of the assessment and every effort will be made to conduct the assessment on the same date you have scheduled the candidate
- Regardless of the number of candidates taking psychological tests at a time, remote telehealth “face-to-face” interviews will still be conducted individually and securely through electronic telehealth platform interviewing
- You will receive the notification email at the time reports are completed and ready for download
-
Information found in an assessment candidate’s HudsonAssessment folder will now include several additional forms, electronically signed by assessment candidates. These include:
- a form that acknowledges the Risks and Benefits of Telehealth Assessment (signed at the time of the initial evaluation confirmation)
- a Remote Assessment Agreement Form
- the Disclosure And Informed Consent and Authorization To Use And Disclose Protected Healthcare Information forms
- a Post-Assessment Disclosure form
Demonstrations of the remote assessment process for agency leadership are available. If interested, please contact Dr. Hudson via email to set up a time for demonstration of the telehealth assessment process
